Our Mission

As a uniquely inspired team of therapists and teachers, we are dedicated to working with and transforming the lives of professionals and our community. Our training institute offers online and in-person education for therapists and clinicians. Our play therapy services provide children, parents, and entire families with progressive therapies that go right to the heart of the struggles to heal from the inside out. We also provide social and emotional education and awareness to teachers, parents, and organizations.

Who Do We Serve?

“As a parent, I really appreciate the compassionate guidance, as well as the supportive environment to facilitate conscious recognition of behavioral issues and the ability to make better choices.”

Anna D., Parent

“We were given a window into how our son was processing being overstimulated and watched as he progressively learned how to re-regulate himself.”

James V., Parent

“I feel absolutely capable in Synergetic Play Therapy and am excited to bring this into my practice… and I’m passionate about learning more.”

Jody Catlow, MA, NLC, Play Therapist

“I got so much out of this intensive – a greater sense of self and deeper awarenes of my experience, including bodily sensations, emotions and, most notably, how I am affected by my environment and letting that all in. It is an inspiration to be at the forefront of something amazing! I am so excited to have experienced such profound transformation in such a short amount of time and to now be able to go out and share this with others. Thank you.”

Chandra Lontz-Smith, MA, LPCC, Play Therapist

“PTIC came to Tennyson Center for Children and provided a comprehensive, two-day training for more than 20 of our Day Treatment, Residential and In-Home therapists. Collectively, our therapists felt that the training was the perfect balance of theory, skill modeling and skill practice. Most of our clinical staff wished they could have extended the training for additional days because they felt they were learning so much. Lisa was a dynamic speaker with an expertise that fit perfectly with our client population of children and adolescents who have experienced abuse and neglect. Our therapists felt more confident and competent in play therapy after only two days of training.”
