What is Synergetic Play Therapy?
At its core, SPT is about transforming the therapeutic process—bringing healing through connection, self-awareness, and the power of being truly authentic in the playroom.
Founded in 2008 by Lisa Dion, the Institute began as the Play Therapy Institute of Colorado. As SPT gained international recognition, it became clear that this revolutionary model deserved its own platform.
And so, the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute was born—carrying forward a mission to create transformation in the lives of children, therapists, educators, and families around the world.
Since then, SPTI has trained thousands of professionals across six continents.
From therapists and counselors to educators and mental health leaders, our reach continues to grow as more people seek an approach that’s both grounded in science and infused with heart.
