Join Lisa online for a 2 hour workshop September 25 hosted by Play Therapy United Kingdom (PTUK) on Co-regulating with Caregivers: Becoming an External Regulator for Caregivers in Play Therapy.

The caregivers of our play therapy clients play a pivotal role in the play therapy process.  Learning to involve them successfully requires a specific skill set often overlooked in the training of play therapists.  This workshop is designed to teach you how to become a caregiver’s external regulator, the most essential foundational skill necessary to begin to partner effectively with caregivers.  Topics such as the steps for how to co-regulate with a caregiver, working with emotional flooding, and caregiver resistance will be explored.

Objectives:

  1. Discuss what it means to become a caregiver’s external regulator
  2. Explore what caregiver resistance is and what it is not
  3. Discuss the significance of identifying emotional flooding within the caregiver and with the play therapist

Stay tuned for more details.
