Understanding Children’s Moods and Behaviors:  A Neurobiological Perspective for Teachers and Educators

Designed by play therapists, this presentation assists teachers and educators in learning how to support the nurturing of social-emotional development in a group and classroom setting. Participants are introduced
to a fresh perspective on why children are feeling and acting the way they are, based on neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology.  Participants will have many “A-ha” moments as the relationship between brain
development, perception, nervous system regulation and their impact on a child as an individual and in a group are explored.  The teacher and educator’s roles in helping re-pattern a child’s nervous system will also
be explored.
