Synergetic Play Therapy® Foundation Scholarship Application

From exchange rates, living in war zones, needing to travel large distances, socio-economic influences, working in settings that pay lower wages, underrepresented minorities, or marginalized populations, we recognize that there are many reasons that can make play therapy training cost prohibitive for an individual.

General Information

Applications for 2026 will open November 1st, 2025, and will close February 28th, 2026.
Applicants will be notified by the end of March 2026, at which point applicants will have 30 days to accept the award or the award will be forfeited.
The SPT Foundation offers scholarships of up to 50% of the registration cost for the play therapy training or course that an individual wishes to pursue.
Scholarship awards are determined based on a number of variables including quality of application submission, availability of funds, and total number of applicants in each award cycle.
Scholarship funds must be awarded before the start of the training or course for which the funds are being requested. Please note, the Foundation does not retroactively back pay.
Funds will be sent directly to the organization identified in the scholarship application. Funds will NOT be sent to applicants directly.
Awards must be utilized within one year of receipt and are restricted to the specific play therapy training or course for which they were awarded. In the event the award cannot be used, applicants should notify the Foundation immediately.
Applicants may not apply for multiple programs at the same time and may not apply for additional scholarship fundng until two years from the date they were awarded a scholarship.

How to Apply?

Individuals interested in applying for a scholarship must complete the Synergetic Play Therapy Foundation Scholarship Application. All questions must be answered fully to be considered. Once the application is submitted, applicants will receive a confirmation email from the SPTF.

The scholarship application award process is conducted by the scholarship committee. This is a blind process, meaning that names and other identifying information are removed from all applications during the review.
