Let’s get a little deep today about knowing our truths …
Because here’s the thing, we can’t know our truth when we approach life and circumstances from our head.
The heart is actually the gateway to knowing. We can’t think our way through life disconnected to the body and heart if we want a strong compass.
And when I say the heart, I don’t mean infatuated feel good feelings that come and go.
I mean something so much deeper – the capacity to connect with a guiding force that is able to see beyond the whims of pain and pleasure.
There’s a quote from Rumi that really captures it beautifully. Rumi writes, “As you live deeper in the heart, the mirror gets cleaner and cleaner.”
Our heart allows us to see what is true …
… to recognize that life will continue to provide us with experiences to look in the mirror;
… to see that there is no one else out there except who we think is out there; and
… to feel more deeply.
We can try to escape ourselves, yet the deeper we go into our heart, we find that we have no place to run … and more beautifully, no reason to.
